Being Uncomfortable in Museums
Alice Procter

This event took place on 10th June 2021 at 7:00pm (18:00 GMT)

Museums are spaces that narrate and shape nationalism and identity. They rely on the idea of a shared heritage, some sense of universal experience. But these spaces are exclusionary, and they rely on stories that comfort and confirm the biases of their implied audiences. How can we challenge the colonial legacies of museums, work through the ways they make us feel, and learn to come to terms with the discomfort of our histories?
