This event took place on 26th August 2014
Knowledge Media Institute, Berrill Building, The Open University, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, MK7 6AA
Your team project is about deep ocean exploration. During the project you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that will prepare innovative proposals for practical investigations in preparation for occupying, and working from, an under-sea laboratory. In this Labcast I will demonstrate a number of ways in which the underwater environment is significantly different from the ambient conditions of normal laboratory studies and fieldwork. The aim is to help you to start thinking about science in the deep ocean and about being a team scientist.
There are widgets on the right hand side of the interactive Labcast page, please engage with all three of these while you are waiting for the Labcast to begin - this will give us an idea of the current audience's location and distribution across the S288 modules, your combined experience of ocean diving and your initial impressions concerning the challenges of deep ocean exploration. |
