Art Talk: The Open University Art Collection - part 2
Unearthing the OU's treasures
Stroud Cornock

This event took place on 22nd January 2008 at 12:30pm (12:30 GMT)

A personal view on the kinds of issues that arise when a public body like the OU finds that it has accumulated prints, paintings and sculptures. Should it form an Art Collection and, if so, how?
Stroud Cornock, who had migrated from the art world into higher education, joined the CNAA team responsible for accreditation of UK degrees in art, design, art history and the performing arts, where he stumbled across dozens of major art works and became the curator of the collection (at the margins of a day job). Ten years later he also became the first curator of the Open University's growing body of artworks.
