Moon Night opens with a welcome by Dr Mahesh Anand who introduces the Moon from a scientific perspective. A special guest will join us to give an invited talk, followed by a live performance of “Moon Music”, a specially commissioned piece of music to convey Science of the Moon by British Bahraini trumpet player Yazz Ahmed.
17.45 Get hands-on with the Moon
Staff and students involved in lunar research at The OU are on-hand all evening to talk about their research and answer any type of question about the Moon and beyond.

19.30 Q&A and prize-giving
The event concludes with an opportunity to ask questions, another live performance of ‘Moon Music’ and a special guest will announce winners of the drawing competition.
*Please bring your smartphone or tablet that can connect to data or Wifi (The Open University does offer free Wifi on campus) to engage with some activities.
A portion of the event will also be live-cast and subsequently archived for later viewing for those who could not attend in person.
