The Erewhon Project:
geolocation and mobile delivery of university resources
Sebastian Rahtz, Tim Fernando

This event took place on 24th September 2009

Erewhon is a JISC-funded institutional innovation project. Our aim is to develop methods of accessing University information and services from mobile devices, and creating a comprehensive geo- location database to facilitate the anticipated demand for location based services. This talk will describe progress in the project so far, concentrating on the design and implementation of the geolocation database, and the challenges of making a mobile portal.

Everyone is very welcome to attend but spaces are limited so please indicate your interest as soon as possible to ensure your place. Please contact Library-Promotions@open.ac.uk for bookings. Please assume that you have a place unless we contact you to say otherwise. Location maps for the Open University can be found at: www3.open.ac.uk/contact/locations.aspx.
With the presenters' consent, we video record our Library seminars (including any questions during the seminar) and make them available on the internet. The seminar audience confirm their agreement to this by entering the location and attending the seminar
