Berrill Lecture Theatre, The Open University, Walton Hall Campus, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom
Professor Boyle’s lecture reviews a variety of studies showing that renewable sources could supply most, and probably all, of the UK’s, Europe’s and the World’s energy needs by 2050 - if we pursue this option vigorously.
Professor Boyle - based in the Department of Design, Development, Environment and Materials, in Mathematics, Computing and Technology - is the co-author and editor of widely adopted textbooks on renewable and sustainable energy, and has chaired various OU courses on these subjects.
His main research interests are in solar and wind power, energy systems modeling and energy policy.
The event starts at 4pm. Tea and coffee will be served from 3.30pm.
In order for the event team to provide sufficient catering, please email communications@open.ac.uk if you would like to attend the lecture. |
