This webcast gives an overview of one of the background technologies to be used in Super which results from the DIP (dip.semanticweb.org) project. First a general overview of the semantic Web and Web services is given followed by the overall aim of semantic Web services research. The second part of the presentation gives a detailed description of the Web Services Modelling Ontology (WSMO). The final part incorporates a hands-on session using a number of DIP tools including IRS-III (kmi.open.ac.uk/projects/irs/) and WSMO Studio (www.wsmostudio.org).
