This event took place on 12th March 2014 at 2:00pm (14:00 GMT)
Knowledge Media Institute, Berrill Building, The Open University, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, MK7 6AA
In this session I will talk about the ADL's xAPI specification and how it applies to learning technology. The proliferation of personal data, coupled with the increasing variety of online learning tools and the demand for a more scientific approach to learning and performance represent a real opportunity for innovation. I'm backing the Experience API (xAPI for short) to help us deliver in this moment. We'll explore the role of activity providers and the need for Learning Record Stores, such as the Learning Locker. I will talk a little about the vision and mission of the Learning Locker project before opening the floor to discuss possibilities and areas for collaboration. We're currently searching for teams and organisations to help shape our open source project and to help road test our product in the real-world. |
