Information Security talks

The Information Security team is excited to welcome award-winning guest speaker Graham Cluley to the OU, as he discusses some of the most shocking cyber horror stories.

The two, hour-long talks are taking place in the Hub Theatre and are open to all colleagues. The talks will finish with 15 minutes for questions.

11:00 – 12:15 Talk 1: Malware and hacking – how does it affect you?

Graham explains how malware and hacking can impact you on a personal level, as well as its implications in the workplace. The Open University stores sensitive data, which means that students and partners could be put at risk, or the organisation's reputation could be damaged.

13:00 – 14:15 Talk 2: Unbelievable stories of cyber horror!

Computer security expert Graham Cluley shares some unbelievable tales of cyber-attacks, showing colleagues the consequences of ignoring information security policies.

About the speaker 

Graham Cluley is an award-winning independent security blogger, researcher, podcaster and public speaker. He has been a well-known figure in the computer security industry since the early 1990s when he worked as a programmer, writing the first-ever version of Dr Solomon's Anti-Virus Toolkit for Windows.
