CaSEs 30th anniversary celebration
'Shaping the Future of Science' #case30

This event took place on 14th November 2016 at 6:30pm (18:30 GMT)

2016 sees the 30th anniversary of the Campaign for Science and Engineering (CaSE) – the leading advocacy group for science and engineering in the UK.

To celebrate our 30th anniversary, join us via webstream on 14th November for a special sell-out event in Central London. CaSE will be looking ahead to the role of science and engineering over the next 30 years and asking what we can do now to make that future a reality that we want. The evening will feature two sessions:

  • Professor Lynn Rothschild, Adjunct Professor of Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry, Brown University
  • Phil Smith Chairman, Cisco UK and Ireland
  • Professor Jonathan Haskel, Professor of Economics, Imperial College London
  • Dr Adam Kucharski, Assistant Professor, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
  • Katie Ward, Author of 'Girl Reading'
  • Dr Sarah Main, CaSE Director (Chair)

7.30-7.40pm A short break followed by

7.40-8.40pm An ‘in-conversation’ discussion between:

  • Professor Jim Al-Khalili Professor of Theoretical Physics, University of Surrey
  • Professor Brian Cox Advanced Fellow of Particle Physics, University of Manchester, and
  • Jo Johnson MP Universities, Science, Research and Innovation Minister

You can join the event debate via Twitter: #case30.

As part of our 30th anniversary CaSE will also be publishing a series of thirty guest articles from across the sector, looking ahead to the future of science and engineering and the challenges we face.
