Knowledge Media Institute, Berrill Building, The Open University, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, MK7 6AA

[Postponed] - The H2020 GATEKEEPER, October 2019 - December 2023, was one of the flagship projects sponsored by the European Commission tasked with shaping the European Health Data Space. Designed as a federation of eight national pilots, we developed the UK agenda around community care, supporting independent living at home, and long-term supporting self-management. The seminar is a walkthrough of the UK experience in relation to opportunities for innovation, differences and common challenges across Europe. Unique to the UK experience was the extensive co-design effort involving the Woughton Community Council and the Bangor Hospital. The walkthrough will conclude with a discussion of three key gaps and challenges for the future: life-long use of technology, embedding and adapting solutions to day-to-day activities and life changes, and encoding of users’ positive objectives within intelligent systems.
