If you want to practice medicine in the UK, you need a licence to practice. In the IT industry, we're different. You don't need a licence to practice no matter whether it's web page design or the software to control a medical device you're working on. Some have said that the development of a software licence to practice means stopping the industry for five years, but is that necessarily the case?
