  • What is the difference between interdisciplinarity and multidisciplinarity?
  • Does it matter?
  • Can you engineer interdisciplinarity or can it only arise spontaneously?
  • What about funding for interdisciplinary work?
These and other issues raised by the audience will be the focus of discussion by a panel that will include Prof. Alan Bundy, School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh; Prof. Yvonne Rogers, Department of Computing, The Open University; Dr Annamaria Carusi, Oxford University Computing Laboratory.

About the seminar series:
On behalf of EPSRC and ESRC, the Teaching and Learning Research Programme is supporting the development of a new interdisciplinary UK research community on TEL. Two £6m rounds of project commissioning have been planned, together with associated capacity building activities. The second competition is expected to be announced in spring 2007.

This seminar series focuses on key research issues and criteria in the funding competitions. Attendance at any seminar is open to all UK researchers or users with an interest in research on TEL, subject to places being available.
