16.00 The Open University’s history encompasses in part the role of the educational transformer. In this lecture Professor Shakespeare traces the history and purpose of this role which has made such a contribution to the distinctive position of the University. She begins her investigation with an examination of practical work on educational transforming the 1970s and 1980s and explores the role of pedagogy in educational transformation. She goes on to raise questions about the role of educational transforming at the beginning of the 21st century.
